IDC is always taking resumes for talented and experienced instructors.
|
In general: Candidate must love working with children (pre-school, elementary, pre-teen and teens ages), yet possess ample experience and be well versed in dance terminology to be able to instruct adult beginner and intermediate classes. Teaching or experience as an assistant is not necessary, but is preferred. Must have excellent communication skills with children as well as with parents for progression updates. Must be resourceful and able to improvise in various classroom situations.
For substitute instructors: Must have flexible schedule or willing to be called upon when needed for additional substitution or private lesson purposes. This position is ideal for the college student or the former dancer missing the art and the studio classroom. For regular instuctors: Must be available to lead regularly scheduled classes on a weekly basis yet does not entail numerous hours that would take away from a full-time or a part-time job. Some instuctors must be willing to travel to both locations and/or be willing to team-teach.
